Mountain Goats LE

Built tough for rugged terrain - The MG's sole is designed for rough, uneven surfaces like gravel, muddy trails, and mountain passes. While not as minimalist as the Chargers or Warriors, the MG’s are purpose built for stability. Great for hiking, with a bit more stack height and an aggressive tread. The LE model improves on our MG platform by adding durability and tackiness through the goatskin leather footbed.

This is the best of my three Shamma Sandals.. they are all excellent though. Secure and comfortable.. the leather keeps the footbed cooler.

      My 3rd pair. Love them.

I love these sandals. It takes a few minutes to adjust the straps in all directions to find the perfect fit for my feet. Once I do, I’m obsessed. I would love an option with more arch support.

Love them! The best and very functional sandals. Really the only functional sandals I’ve ever owned. Love hiking in them. Happy feet.

After owning a pair of All Browns for 7 yrs, I decided to add another pair of Shamma sandals to my collection. I have many pairs of minimal sandals from multiple companies all of which are similar, yet all have unique qualities as well. The key quality that I like about the All Browns is the leather footbed. All of my other sandals have rubber footbeds which I do not find nearly as comfortable as leather. I understand the benefit of rubber over leather but in the end, leather is just more comfortable. Many of the other companies don't even offer a leather foot bed option, it is a big thing that differentiates Shamma from the rest. I have been in a daily running routine for 50 yrs now and can say that I've logged more than a few miles. I have been wearing minimal shoes of some sort while running for most of those years. I am living proof of running injury free with minimalism. Before the minimal shoe craze with few options available, I wore racing flats for my every day training. While I've tried many times, I do not wear sandals running. All of my running is on dirt and gravel and I just don't like getting sand, dirt and pebbles between the sole of my foot and the foot bed. As soon as I'm done running, I put on sandals for most of the other 14 hrs per day that I'm awake. The All Browns have been a great sandal for me but I decided to go a little thicker on the sole with the Goats. Now that I have them, the thickness and the two densities of Vibram seem perfect. While I like the look of the leather straps on the All Browns, I have never felt they were very practical. For years the straps have been stretching and require frequent adjustments to tighten. The elite lacing system on the Goats are much more practical and a huge improvement. Everyone has their own requirements, for me, I think I have found the perfect sandal.
