Extremely Versatile and Excellent Customer Support
I had a tight window to receive my Shammas before leaving the country for travel. Customer support was very punctual and made sure my delivery came on time.
The shoes are well constructed and super versatile - I've used them for just about everything from 1,000m mountain scrambles to beach days and long-distance trail runs. They take several weeks of every day wear before the achilles and midsole foot pain to subside, but once I started using them as my daily driver, runs became much less painful. Can't recommend these kicks enough.
For years I was a diehard Luna fan, but slowly they would wear out consistently where the strap met the sandal. I got bedrock cairns which were and are phenomenal. Very easy to adjust and last forever. But the only downside is they were not great for running. When I found the Shamma sandals it was like they fit every ideal that the other sandals didn't quite reach. They are excellent for running, lightweight with good ground feel, they are comfortable for long runs because the straps don't cause much friction, and the three way cinching system which has similarities with the Cairns is fantastic for getting the perfect fit over time. I've only had them for little over a month and I couldn't be more pleased. I'll run a marathon in them next weekend and see how well they hold up, but I have high hopes.
Overall my experience has been good.
I ordered these sandals (Warriors Maximus) for hiking in the UK. I ordered without leather because the chances are they'll get wet. I was wearing my Xero Genesis for summer hiking, but they're a bit too thin and flappy for hikes of 5 miles plus. The Shammas fit PERFECTLY. Like, they don't move from my foot no matter how I move/run/walk/jump. Exceptional fit. I am seriously considering ordering a pair of leisure sandals for every day because they fit so well and are so comfortable. The grip is good too although I haven't tried them in muddy conditions yet. The power straps I ordered were completely unnecessary because the fit is perfect and secure already for my low volume feet/skinny ankles.
I ordered on 17th June '22 for delivery to the UK. They arrived in the UK quickly enough, but then there was a lot of messing about with them being stuck in a warehouse when I was told by UPS they were delivered to a local collection point. They were finally delivered to my house mid-August. It turns out the invoice sent with from Shamma stated my purchase was a return which caused endless confusion at customs, much to-ing and fro-ing from my house to the place from whence I was due to collect, parcel not being there a bunch of times, me spending a few hours on the phone with UPS over several days before the whole thing was resolved and my sandals actually arrived. No acknowledgement or apology from Shamma that it was their error.
Returns were painless - the pair I bought for my son were too small. I'm sure I returned the sandals and two pairs of power straps. Shamma said there was only one in the package they received, but refunded me for two anyway - thanks!
Customer service takes at least five business days to get back to you.
So, yeah, good overall.
general comments: these sandals are comfortable, easy to adjust, flexible, and are a LOT of fun to run in. honestly i feel faster and more surefooted in these than in my other close-toed minimalist running shoes. i owned a 2017(?)-era pair of shamma all-blacks and found them very comfortable for all-around life but a little funky for running, as the leather on the old system stretches and slips at the heel. i recently decided to take the plunge on expanding my minimal running repertoire with a pair of the warriors maximus and i essentially haven't taken them off since receiving them a couple of weeks ago. not only are they comfortable, but i find them kind of elegant as well! i'm dreading the onset of winter when i'll have to go back to regular shoes. specific stuff: in normal life i'm a women's 9.5. i had a shamma size 8.5 in my old all-blacks but my toes occasionally slipped off the front edge on them just a bit. based on the printed sizing thing i was having a hard time deciding whether to buy the new warriors in an 8.5 or a 9. the folks at shamma encouraged me to size up to a 9 based on photos of the old pair, and while this definitely gave me a little extra room, i actually think i would have been just fine in an 8.5. the extra material in the front feels ever-so-slightly sloppy. i might eventually try to carve a little extra material off the front of these sandals just to get a "tidier" fit once the footbed finishes molding to my foot. even though i forgot to use their special code at checkout for their summertime offer of free power straps and achilles guards, the very nice folks at shamma nevertheless sent me both separately when i asked. i wasn't sure whether i would like the power straps, but i find that i LOVE them for running. they give me just a bit more of a close fit and better response as i lift my foot. for walking i'm kinda so-so on them. they seem to force my foot back a bit on the shoe from where they might otherwise sit. fortunately, they're easily removable and so i can remove and add them back again at will. the achilles guards are a welcome addition 100% of the time, a supple little leather barrier to keep the somewhat rigid heel strap from chafing. i recommend people experiment with both!
I chose my size based solely on comparing the listed Shamma sandal length to the actual length of a well fitting sandal I own from a different company and my new Shamma Warrior Maximus fit even better. It is also more comfortable than my previous pair even though the old pair are broken in. Lighter, too, but probably more durable based on my assessment of the type of sole used. By the way, I really like how Shamma specifically describes which rubber is used where in their sandals and how thick the layers are. I'll be back when/if these wear out.
Shamma Sandals use custom soles that are designed to give you the best possible fit and experience, so please check your measurements with our sandal sizing chart. The templates of the sandals are available for download and printing.
To size yourself, print the template out and place your foot on the template so that the toe hole is between your big toe and first little toe. Make sure that your toes aren’t hanging off the front of the template, and that your ankles line up with the ankle slots on the sides of the sandal. If the ankle slots are under your foot a little bit, that’s ok, the laces come up and around your feet – just make sure that your toes don’t go past the front of the sandal, that your heel doesn’t go past the back of the sandal, and that the toe hole and ankle slots line up with your feet. For the best fit, we recommend choosing a sandal size that gives you between an 1/8" (.32cm) to a 1/4" (.64cm) of extra room in front of your toes and behind your heel.
BOOT SIZING CHART
For boot sizing, you can generally go with your standard street shoe size. If you want to double check, use these boot sizing templates below!
NOTE:Make sure your printer doesn’t resize or shrink to fit when printing! Check the measuring line of the template to a physical ruler before sizing! Larger sizes will need to be printedPosteracross2 sheets of paper.

Elite Lacing System
(Our Elite Lacing System includes models: Warriors, Warriors LE, Warriors Maximus, Warriors Maximus LE, Chargers, Chargers LE, Mountain Goats, Mountain Goats LE).
1. First, loosen all 3 strap zones until there is excess slack in each section. The straps should be extremely loose in all three zones.
2. Start by centering your foot on the sandal, so that the placement of your foot is in the desired final location (you should have equal room in front of your toes and behind your heel with this placement).
3. Now that your foot is centered on the sandal, adjust the buckle front to back to find a desirable location.
4. Now tighten the insole strap. This will dictate the buckle’s left to right position on your foot. Keep the buckle parallel with the bone behind your big toe. If the buckle is too close to the bone behind your big toe it may be uncomfortable. If this is the case, loosen the insole strap and reposition the buckle farther to the outside of the foot.
5. Now that the buckle is in it’s desired position and the insole strap is tightened, tighten the toe strap until snug and comfortable.
6. Tighten the heel strap to your desired comfort level and enjoy your Shamma Sandals!
Super Lacing System
(Our Super Lacing System includes models: Super Browns, Super Goats).
Models in our Super Collections have 3 adjustment zones for the perfect fit- the toe strap, the insole strap, and the heel strap.
1. First, loosen all 3 strap zones until there is excess slack in each section. The straps should be extremely loose in all three zones.
2. Start by centering your foot on the sandal, so that the placement of your foot is in the desired final location (you should have equal room in front of your toes and behind your heel with this placement).

5. Now that the buckle is in it’s desired position and the insole strap is tightened, pull any extra slack from the toe strap zone through the outside ankle slot towards the heel.
6. Tighten the heel strap to your desired comfort level and enjoy your Shamma Sandals!
Classic Lacing System
(Our Classic Lacing System includes models: All Browns, All Blacks, Old Goats).
(Our Cruzer Lacing System includes the Cruzers and Pacific Blue Cruzers models).
Our Cruzers models have 3 adjustment zones for the perfect fit- the toe strap, the insole strap, and the heel strap.
1 - Adjust to Desired Fit
After centering your foot on the sandal, adjust the outside lacing so that the buckle is in a comfortable position and there is tension (but not too much) between the toe plug and ankle slot.
2. Pull On Power Sleeve
Adjust the Heel Strap by pulling up on the power sleeve, to create some space to tighten the Heel Strap. It should be enough space to grab the slack with two fingers.
3. Pull Slack Through
Pulling from the Heel Strap side, pull the extra slack through the bottom of the sandal until the Power Sleeve is resting in a snug position.
4. Pull On Power Sleeve
Pulling from the Inside Lacing side of the Power Sleeve, pull the extra slack through the Power Sleeve until the strap is flush with the sole of the sandal.
5. Adjust To Desired Fit
First, create slack underneath the buckle by creating some tension on the inside lacing side of the buckle. Adjust the lacing until Comfortable.
6. Pull Slack Through
Take extra slack and feed it back through the buckle, towards the inside lacing of the sandal. Pull slack until the buckle is flush with the foot.
7. Put Extra in Keeper
To keep the extra slack secure, feed the strap through the keeper and pull until comfortable. You are now ready to explore!
