New Shamma Lacing, new possibilities- TrailStars are designed to take on the toughest trails while keeping you comfortably secure. TrailStar Alpha LEs have a whole new lacing system, which connects the forefoot and big toe to the sandal like never before. With the Trailstars, you get shoe-level connection to the sole, using our proprietary Forefoot UltraStrap and SoleAnchors. Forefoot UltraStraps and SoleAnchors allow total control over your adjustments, to give you a perfect fit. All this in minimalist sandals that allow for flexibility and natural foot movement.
The TrailStars lacing is made from HP UltraSuede, which is material that is made without leather but that will provide comfort and security all day long!
TrailStar Alpha LEs share the same rugged sole as the Mountain Goat LEs. except they use an American Aniline leather footbed. Hike in comfort and style with Aniline leather!
Sole composition and stack height:
Weight: Approximately 6.7oz/sandal (at size 9)
Have a wide foot and/or a high arch? Choose the L option in your size! The L size option will allow you to get the same size sole, but with longer straps to account for wide feet/high arches. Not sure if you should get a size L sandal? Email us at contact@shammasandals.com and we would be happy to help!
Please note- the TrailStars Maximus and TrailStars Maximus LE are currently the thinnest sandals available with the TrailStars Lacing System. We unfortunately cannot put the TrailStars Lacing on soles that are any thinner than the TrailStars Maximus and Maximus LE, due to the lacing being incompatible with thinner soles.

Shamma sandals is a fantastic company, competant in all phases. Ordering was easy and the sizing was perfect. The Trailstars fit perfectly right out of the box and were easily laced, re-adjusted once, and ready to go. The ride is stable yet the leather footbed provides a soft, buttery feel on or off road. Having had a bad experience with a competitor last year, I was unsure about another fairly substantial investment. However, Shamma has lived up to all of the reviews that helped me make up my mind. Oh, don't overlook the fact that they're also made in America.
I bought them because of the new lacingsystem. I wear them now for a few weeks, mostly everytime when i'm outside. If dogwalks or small hikes on dirt/wooden paths: the trailstars are just that: Stars! ;-) For these purposes I think a sandale with thinner sole and the trailstar-lacing would be also great. Beside, costumer support was just great! Quick repeat on my mails and really nice! And the shipment to europe was without any problems. Thank you, again!
This is my first pair of barefoot sandals anxious am enjoying them! The video was very helpful for adjusting them when I first got them. I don’t think this will be my last pair
They fit like a glove. To be honest, the first thought was that was to little with short velcros but I've been using them for a few days and the feel great now. Really comfortable and secure for all the trail adventures.
I bought these sandals for a vacation to the Philippines to be able to use at the beach and swimming around coral/rocks. Prior to use I used them around my city to break them in and make sure there were no issues. On the trip I wore them island hopping and within an hour the leather had stained the bottom of my feet red, which then led to my Nick name being “red foot” the rest of the trip lol. It took about 4 days to come off even after trying to scrub it off in the shower. Shamma customer service told me I should wear socks with them until they are broken in and to avoid staining my feet which defeats the purpose of why I bought them - to wear at the beach. Other than the feet staining I love the way they fit and they are comfortable for long walks. My partner bought the same ones, but the non-leather version and he has absolutely loved them. Wish I would have bought those ones instead of the leather version.
