TrailStar Maximus

The TrailStar Maximus pushes performance with every step. Designed for intense activity that requires speed and precision, the TrailStar Maximus functions as well in the gym as it does outdoors. These lightweight and secure sandals break the boundaries of what you expect from minimalist footwear.

Sole

The Maximus use an 8mm Vibram® Newflex sole coupled with your choice of UltraGrip or Tobacco Brown Goatskin Leather footbed for a 9mm total stack height. Vibram® Newflex is made from a blend of rubber and EVA to form a durable soling material with aggressive tread. At 3mm thicker than the Warrior sole, you will get a much more rugged sandal that is capable of diffusing the feeling of rocks, sticks, and the like from underfoot. The Maximus sole is suitable for a host of situations from the trail to the gym. Pair with the UltraGrip footbed for use in the harshest elements, or select the Goatskin Leather for more comfort in drier conditions.

TrailStar Lacing System

Increased security from over-the-foot style lacing is the hallmark of TrailStars. The TrailStar Lacing system features a specially made forefoot strap made from Toray® Ultrasuede and a nylon mesh. The result is an extremely comfortable material with the strength properties of webbing. The forefoot strap is completely adjustable and anchored through the bottom of the sole. Final adjustments are made through a tension lock on the outer heel post. All forefoot straps are cut-to-fit after adjustment. The heel section of the lacing system employs two heel posts covered in Ultrasuede for comfort. Heel strap adjustments are locked into place using Velcro®. The result is an extremely comfortable and secure lacing system that is ready for adventure!

Loving my Trailstar Maximus

I haven’t committed to backpacking in sandals as a stand alone yet but I did do a 30ish mile loop in the Ouachita Mountains in them and the really worked great. I’m really starting to believe they’re tough enough to handle longer trips. They fit great and the soles are way more grippy than I ever expected. I’ve seen a lot of product failures with my friends Xeros and I can already tell Shamma is a cut above the unrepairable Chinese ones

Definetly are great!!

I love these sandals, they’re so comfortable. My only suggestion is to change the material on the insole. When I walk long distances the plastic scratches my feet. Perhaps next time I’ll try the leather insoles instead.

Cool design

The design is unique and helps hold the sandal to the foot better and once the sole breaks in the trail can be felt underfoot. I bought a similar thin sandal from xeroshoes and its made in china quality had the straps break off from the sandal within a year and into the trash it went. You can tell these are higher quality made by americans.

The best!!!

I loved my traditional style shamma sandals I got last year. I was hesitant to try a new style, but I am so glad I did! I absolutely love these, if shamma came out with maybe a leopard print or something a little girly I could wear for a more stylish look, I would throw away all my other sandals. I wear them constantly everyday and my feet don't hurt. You really do forget you have shoes on!

Love them!

I tried so many barefoot sandals and was hesitant to spend this much on a pair of sandals, but I’m so pleased!

Surprising comfort and durability

I'm new to the barefoot sandel world and did not expect to be able to run a few miles a day without consequences in these. They have just the right amount of protection under foot for Arizona's rocky trails. In just a couple weeks I've used these for caving, hiking up a creek, and running 3-4 miles per day on rugged trails. I don't want to wear shoes again after getting these, the grip and overall experience is just better with shammas!
