The TrailStar Maximus pushes performance with every step. Designed for intense activity that requires speed and precision, the TrailStar Maximus functions as well in the gym as it does outdoors. These lightweight and secure sandals break the boundaries of what you expect from minimalist footwear.
The Maximus use an 8mm Vibram® Newflex sole coupled with your choice of UltraGrip or Tobacco Brown Goatskin Leather footbed for a 9mm total stack height. Vibram® Newflex is made from a blend of rubber and EVA to form a durable soling material with aggressive tread. At 3mm thicker than the Warrior sole, you will get a much more rugged sandal that is capable of diffusing the feeling of rocks, sticks, and the like from underfoot. The Maximus sole is suitable for a host of situations from the trail to the gym. Pair with the UltraGrip footbed for use in the harshest elements, or select the Goatskin Leather for more comfort in drier conditions.
Increased security from over-the-foot style lacing is the hallmark of TrailStars. The TrailStar Lacing system features a specially made forefoot strap made from Toray® Ultrasuede and a nylon mesh. The result is an extremely comfortable material with the strength properties of webbing. The forefoot strap is completely adjustable and anchored through the bottom of the sole. Final adjustments are made through a tension lock on the outer heel post. All forefoot straps are cut-to-fit after adjustment. The heel section of the lacing system employs two heel posts covered in Ultrasuede for comfort. Heel strap adjustments are locked into place using Velcro®. The result is an extremely comfortable and secure lacing system that is ready for adventure!
Just because you wore a hole in your sandals, it doesn’t mean you have to throw them away! Our modular approach to sandal-making means that worn out parts can be replaced with a pair of pliers at home. Why throw away what you can repair? Visit our Parts Page to learn more!
Proud to be made in the USA and we wouldn’t have it any other way! All of our sandals are made right here in Santa Cruz, CA by our small team, using primarily US sourced materials along with high quality components from Italy, Germany, and other international partners. Follow us on Instagram and YouTube to get a glimpse of how we do it on a regular basis.
Great quality, comfortable, I’ll need to check the durability because my last Shanna sandal was all of those things too but didn’t last a full year before the toe separator was torn in the connection with the sole. Overall if this sandal will pass the test of durability I am highly recommending this product.
I have been using Shamma for a few years now and wear them 300+ days a year. They have been the best huarache style sandal I have used (and I tried a lot!). Well made and the only issue I have is the tension doesn't hold on the forefoot adjuster and needs to be snugged down regularly. This is not an issue in the Pacifics. I'd love to see a webbing version of the Pacifics (maybe with a fun stripped pattern?) for those of us that live near water.
I love love my pacific av sandals. I own a pair of browns and i love them but the pacific ones are next level. Way more comfy, wide and the color is gorgeous. Love them!
These are comfortable sandals, light and flexible with a nice security strap at the back. Sadly they toe loop and the first strap doesn't appear to be adjustable and that made it too lose in my case.
I usually wear M8.5 size shoe for road run and 9 for trail run. I got M7.5 Elite Ibex. It fits quite well and potentially go M7. I run almost solely on sandals now, on road and trail. Even technical trails. I have at least 5 pairs of running sandals, including Luna. I will go ahead with only Shamma, probably Elite Ibex only. Luna is great too but a bit on the hard / stiff side. Ibex is thicker to my liking. I wear with socks. Will try without to see if it chafes. Fingers crossed😀 Well done, Shamma!
