Great option for camp shoes

I'm not a runner (anymore). I'm doing a thru-hike of the Pyrenees (GR11) this summer and I wanted something that was a good mix of super light and durable. Only wearing them around the house, but so far so good. Only quibble they are a bit of work to size.

Great for kids

I bought these for my 7 year old, and he has lived in them the past two summers. Easy on and off. Very durable.

Pricey, but maybe worth it.

Solid, comfortable, not floppy.

I think this is my third pair of Cruzers (well, two pairs of Jerusalem Cruzers way back when, but you know), and fifth pair of Shamma sandals overall. So far, the Cruzers are my favorite sandals. Stuff I love about the Cruzers: • Supremely comfortable. Other than the strap between my toes, these are more comfortable than being barefoot. I often forget I'm wearing anything at all. Padding is perfect for me, and the nylon webbing is smooth and comfortable. Flexibility is excellent and ground feel is great. • The price is just right. I can't bring myself to pay much more for a slab of rubber and nylon webbing, and cheaper sandals feel, well, cheap. • They look nice. I got compliments on them the first day I wore them. The red looks sharp, but not overly technical like a sport sandal. • They fit perfectly. • The foot bed is grippy, but not sticky, even when wet. Stuff I dislike: • They're tough to adjust. They took at least fifteen minutes to get right the first time. • They loosen up much more quickly than other sandals I've had. My Xero Shoes sandals almost never had to be adjusted, but the Cruzers I adjust every few days. If they get wet they start flopping round almost immediately. I'm not much of a runner, but I don't think I could run for more than a couple of miles in these before they're annoyingly loose. Stuff I'm meh about or that I wish could be added in a future version: • The "power sleeve"... Well, maybe it keeps the heel strap up, but that's not something I've ever really had a problem with. What it does do is make adjusting the sandal more difficult. It also creates (or hides?) a twist in the heel strap that can be pretty uncomfortable. • I'd love a (preferably vegan) leather footbed to dress them up slightly.

Great camp sandals

I just used these sandals on a weeklong backpacking trip on the PCT in the North Cascades. I wanted something light But still very functional for walking around camp and for taking a dip in a lake or river. The sandals function very well for all of these intended purposes. They had good traction when I was scrambling around on rocks or wet dirt. Stayed on well when swimming, and took up very little space in my pack.

The only downsides I found were very minimal. Since the securement strap is all one piece, it comes down very low when it attaches to the side of my foot and unless strapped tight enough would pull the heel strap down and off my foot. When I made sure the sandal was tight I did not have any problems of them falling off. The second thing is that the securement strap is webbing which is very strong but also holds water so the straps stayed wet longer than the sole. Which again is not a flaw just a point of information.

All in all, I’m very happy with the product and will continue to use the sandals for backpacking trips as they were great for helping air out my feet after a day of hiking, and I even managed to wear them with socks when it was chillier out.

Great product.

Very comfortable

I bought these specifically for the grippy footbeds, but am pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the straps are.

bought these for thru-hiking camp shoes

Shoes are light weight and comfortable. Took some doing to get them sized properly.

Can’t adjust the length of the main strap

It would’ve been great if I could adjust the main strap. basically for me to have them fit correctly I would need to size down and I wouldn’t want to do that because then they would be too short. now the straps are too long and I’m flip-flopping every time I walk and it’s very uncomfortable.

Thinking of transitioning to barefoot running?
