Elite Alphas are adventure sandals that are perfect for anyone who wants all the benefits of a zero-drop barefoot sandal, but isn’t sure about being on the ground with no protection for their feet. With a more protective and thicker sole, the Elite Alphas give you the confidence you need to start your minimalist journey. With a firm stable platform, your feet will be free to relax so you can focus on the adventure!
Sole
Alpha soles are composed of 5mm Vibram Newflex and 6mm Vibram® Morflex. This creates a sole that provides excellent protection for your feet while still being light and responsive. The aggressive tread of the Vibram® Newflex makes navigating rough terrain and trails a breeze while the Vibram® Morflex gives you a firm yet cushioned place to rest your feet. Alphas have a 12mm total stack height. Choose the UltraGrip footbed for use in the harshest elements. For more comfort in drier conditions select Cognac Leather.
Elite Lacing System
The Elite Lacing System is the product of 10 years of relentless testing and development. This lacing system is designed with control, comfort, and performance in mind. Three independent adjustment zones - the heel strap, insole strap, and toe straps - give you total control over how the straps are adjusted to your feet. Velcro® fasteners make adjustment easy and secure. The Shamma Elite Buckle gives you the ability to fine tune your toe strap, where adjustment matters most. Our innovative and flexible heel posts keep the straps in an optimal position so you can focus on the road ahead. The Elite Lacing uses Toray® UltraSuede to create the highest levels of comfort available. If you want the highest performance laces, you want the Elite Lacing System!
Recraftable
Just because you wore a hole in your sandals, it doesn’t mean you have to throw them away! Our modular approach to sandal-making means that worn out parts can be replaced with a pair of pliers at home. Why throw away what you can repair? Visit our Parts Page to learn more!

So, I've been contemplating trying Shammas out for several years, but for whatever reason never moved forward with a purchase. Until now. I was in the market for some new running footwear and I have been tired of my little toes pounding the inside of my previous shoes (yes, they were wide, but not sandal wide). After purchasing a pair of Elite Alphas for my wife for her everyday summer footwear, I decided to go ahead and snag a pair for myself and just commit to using them for my go-to footwear whenever close toed shoes are not required. I have been super pleased from the moment I got the straps dialed in. I have only gotten out to run in them once (5k distance), but was very happy with the experience. They're super comfortable without being "pillowy" and they seem to be very well made and I anticipate getting some decent longevity out of them. I'm grateful for the quality and care that Shamma puts into this product and have been impressed with their customer service, as well (I reached out with a question pre-purchase and the response was quick and very helpful). I definitely recommend these and look forward to putting more miles on them!

I usually wear sandals that don't go between the toes or ones with the toe loop. I wanted to try the Mountain Goats and can handle it. With the strap going towards the outer side of the foot instead of straight down makes them very comfortable. I'm very pleased and then purchased the leather Super Goats. I definitely think the power straps are very beneficial.
SpainExcellent pair of trail running sandals!
As usual with all my other Shamma sandals, the elite lacing system works perfectly after the ordinary initial adjustments. The thick sole of the mountain goats is ideal for stony trails, but it is flexible enough to be occasionally used on asphalt or concrete sections. I also love the confortable feeling of the leather footbed, although I will try not to use them on wet conditions. I definitely recommend these sandals!
